As part of our ongoing commitment to empowering Bahrain’s youth with future-ready skills, Innovate for Bahrain hosted a special reunion for the participants of our data-focused program, “Bayanat with Benefit,” held during Youth City 2030 through the support of The Benefit Company in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth. This gathering served as a platform for students to reconnect with their peers and mentors, reflect on their learning journey, and engage in an insightful discussion on the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in data science.
The session featured expert representatives from Benefit, Hessa Hussain (Deputy CE, Bahrain Credit Reference Bureau), Layla Alqassab (Chief Financial Officer) and Mohamed Audeh (Lead Data Science Officer at Bahrain Credit Reference Bureau) who was one of the program’s mentors. The reunion included guest speaker Amin Altajer (CEO of Infiniteware) and an AI expert who shared his insights on the role of Data in AI processes.
This reunion marked the conclusion of an intensive four-week journey designed to inspire and equip high school students (ages 15–18) with essential data science skills. Our goal was to introduce them to the power of data, showcase its impact on various industries, and encourage them to explore careers in data analysis. Through interactive and hands-on learning, participants gained practical experience in collecting, analyzing, visualizing, and presenting data fundamental skills in today’s evolving digital landscape.
With sessions held three times a week, our program engaged around 30 students, each eager to dive into the world of data. We were proud to welcome expert speakers from Benefit, Mohamed Audeh and Ali Hassan, who provided invaluable insights into real-world applications of data science. Additionally, Ahmed Mejiran (Representing Skills Bahrain) led a session on in-demand skills and emerging job opportunities, offering guidance on the importance of continuous learning. We also had the privilege of hosting Mohamed Buallay, a Google Developer Expert in Machine Learning, who introduced students to the role and usage of AI in data analysis, sparking their curiosity about the future of technology.
Beyond technical knowledge, the program focused on developing critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills. Through teamwork, problem-solving exercises and presentations, students built confidence in their ability to analyze and present data effectively.
Commenting on the program, Hessa Hussain, Deputy CE, Bahrain Credit Reference Bureau, “This initiative exemplifies our dedication to empowering Bahrain's youth with vital data science skills, preparing them for the evolving landscape of technology and artificial intelligence. We are proud to play a role in shaping the future generation of data-literate innovators.”
Reflecting on the success of the program, Mohamed Al Subaiee, Director of Innovate for Bahrain, said: “Bayanat with Benefit’ was an inspiring experience, reflecting our mission to empower youth with future-ready skills. Seeing their enthusiasm for data science was truly rewarding. We thank Benefit for their support in making this program a success and look forward to more initiatives that equip young minds for the future.”
